Michael Philip Des Barres (born 24 January 1948) is a British actor and rock musician who is best known for his role in the film The Great Escape. He is most known for his recurring role as Murdoc on the television programme MacGyver, as well as for replacing Robert Palmer as the lead singer of the band Power Station, which he fronted during the 1985 Live Aid benefit event. His ex-wife, groupie and novelist Pamela Des Barres, has written extensively about him in two of her novels, I’m with the Band: Confessions of a Groupie and Take Another Little Piece of My Heart, in which he appears as a character.
